Who can apply
- Holders of a FIBA Coaching Level 1 certificate (or recognised equivalent), current in the 2026 season
- Registered with BUZ as a coach through an affiliated club, school or institution
- Currently coaching, or committed to coaching, a unified or adaptive basketball programme for at least 12 months after certification

What the grant covers
Successful applicants pay nothing for the course. The grant covers course fees, materials, accommodation and transport for both in-person weekends, and a stipend for the supervised coaching hours.
Coaches must complete every module and the supervised practice to keep the place. Places that are not taken up are offered to the reserve list.
How to apply
- Ask your club or institution administrator to confirm your coach registration in the BUZ portal.
- Prepare a one-page statement (maximum 400 words) on your work with athletes with intellectual disabilities.
- Collect a reference from your club or school head, and a copy of your Level 1 certificate.
- Submit your application through the BUZ portal before the deadline.
Selection
A panel appointed by the BUZ Technical Director reviews applications against published criteria: coaching experience, current involvement in unified or adaptive basketball, geographic spread and commitment to the follow-up period. Panel members declare conflicts of interest. Applicants are notified by email by 5 December 2026.
